Minx

The story begins….
It all started from looking after my nieces dog Minx about 11 years ago. We used to look after her while they were away or sometimes during the day. Once she went home we really missed her and started looking at dogs for sale. Well I did basically as my partner said we are having no dogs in this house. Little did he know was that I had already seen one and I loved her little face from the start.
A couple of days later my partner saw another photo of her and said awww look at her and I said don’t tease me you know how much I want her. He just looked at me and said shall we go and fetch her…calmly I said yes let’s but inside I was cheering loudly in my head.
I called the breeder to let her know we really wanted her (I had already told her we would have her, just needed to convince my other half and I did).
The exact same day we started the 5 and a half hour journey from Chesterfield to Saundersfoot in Wales. During the drive I called my niece to say we were going to Wales, she said why! of course she did as she didn’t know anything. When I told her we were on our way to pick up a cute little Jack Russell who we had named Misty Rose she too screamed with joy
I explained that we had nothing for a dog and she said leave it with me (rest of that story comes later). We arrived in Saundersfoot so excited, went in to pick her and there she was with her two sisters and 3 brothers.
My heart melted and we fell in love immediately and couldn’t wait to get her home.
Misty Rose

We had a bed from looking after my nieces dog so we put her in that on the journey home and she sat in there on my partners knee the whole journey. We had one stop and she didn’t want to do anything except sleep bless her.
Got home around midnight and in our bin was a massive black bin bag with everything in it you could want for a puppy. A cute pink collar, little jumper, food, blankets, toys, dog pads, all what was needed.
Hence to say we didn’t get much sleep that night as she was crying and just looking round. Obviously she was missing her mum and siblings, so we gave her lots of love.
My other half did lots of training and to be fair she was so exceptionally easy to train, just wanted to please all the time. Hardly any mishaps in the house, she got used to going outside and the favourite words she always heard were do a wee wee or a poo poo and she did. From that day on she always let us know when she needed to go out.
We did wonder if she was ok as we never heard her bark at all she was so laid back, placid and a little timid….that was about to change.
When she was a few months old we decided to ask the breeder if she had anymore pups we would like another one, but it had to be another girl. She text to say that one of the dogs was having pups. On December 28th 2016 she sent me a photo of cute puppies, 5 boys and 1 girl (ours). I couldn’t contain my excitement another fur baby coming our way.
Coco Buttercup

At the end of February we travelled to Saundersfoot again, but this time we stayed the whole weekend with myself, my partner, my mum and of course our beautiful 10 month old Misty Rose.
We went to pick up our adorable Coco Buttercup (yes thats her name)…both had a middle name of a flower..don’t ask.
Coco was so cute but Misty wasn’t so sure, another dog stealing my limelight. After we eventually got home she did the same as Misty did had a good look round. Totally different dogs Misty the quiet, shy, timid dog and Coco the feisty, noisy one.
Took quite a while for them to get used to each other well Misty anyway, Coco would get in the bed with her and Misty would get out…so funny.
Now Misty is 9 years old and Coco 8 years old. We would not be without our girls they mean everything to us. We even stopped having our annual holidays abroad as we would have missed them so much, instead we holiday in the UK with our girls, visiting some beautiful places which we would never really have visited without dogs.
The weird thing is that Misty’s mum and Coco’s dad are brother and sister who each had their own litters. So our girls are cousins but totally different.

As I said earlier Misty didn’t bark, but now well thats different. Coco always barked and she taught Misty to use her voice.
The difference is Misty loves watching any animals on the tv and is besotted with them. Coco on the other hand thinks all animals are in the room and barks at them to let them know she lives here not them.

Well thats my dog story which continues today
It’s clear that our dogs bring immense joy and love into our lives. The bond between us humans and our pets is truly special and can be incredibly meaningful. Cherish all the special moments with your beloved dogs and continue to appreciate the joy they bring to your world.
